Standard Rail Corporation is a rapidly growing Railcar Services company with operations in Canada and the United States. We are actively seeking an Operations Coordinator who will be accountable for assisting with the logistics and operations of customer support and vendor management. The Operations Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring accuracy while building and maintaining client relations, assisting with document updates, and process maintenance.
The Operations Coordinator will assist with coordinating schedules for customer site visits, customer service logistics, and ensuring that all documentation is accurate, efficient, and up to date. Additional assistance with customer support and logistical initiatives will be an integral part of this role and will report to our Manager, Customer Delivery on behalf of SRC.
KEY responsibilities
- Manage business logistics to ensure smooth operations.

KEY Skills
- Able to use tools including but not limited to cutting torch, air arc cutter, grinder, and hand tools in all positions without damage to adjoining parts, and complete AWSD15 welding qualification test for pipe.
- Able to read and understand technical manuals, written instructional and blue prints.
- Demonstrate basic math & mechanical skills, including reading of a tape measure.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: Steel toe boots, eye protection, ear protection, gloves, hot work PPE, fall protection, respirators and a variety of protective suits.

Railcar Repair Technician

KEY Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations, and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), and Transport Canada.
- Cut metal, replace doors and general car construction.
- Inspect car components for compliance with FRA, Association of American Railroads (AAR), and Transport Canada Regulations.
- Identify or analyze defective components and indicate the necessary corrective action.
- Inspect the repair the securement of lading in open top or flat cars for compliance with AAR rules and measure high/wide loads to ensure railway line clearance.
- Inspect and salvage parts from dismantled and/or scrapped cars.
- Inspect and apply end-of-train device and perform airbrake tests.
- Clean, lubricate and maintain outlet gates and other special equipment on railroad cars.
- Remove and replace couplers, draft gears and yokes.
- Inspect, replace and/or repair gaskets, air hose, train line, bulkhead and other interior load restraining equipment, steel sections such as side sheets, cross bearers, crossties and under framing.
- Touch Up Paint on cars and car components, stencil letters and numbers on cars.
- Build and/or repair components such as freight doors, wooden floors or interior walls.
- Fabricate large jigs and fixtures and use them to assemble parts on car.
- Straighten or fabricate, then replace steel parts such as: grab irons, handholds, ladders, brackets, steps and patching components.
- Operate light and heavy cranes, forklifts, and other car moving shop equipment if technician has received approved training.
- Operate various vehicles to the job site.
- Assist in Re-rail cars by using rerailing equipment and perform other work associated with wreck service on the railroad under supervision.
KEY Qualification
- High School diploma/GED.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Valid Driver's License and clean abstract.
- Mechanical experience.
- One-year mechanical work experience or training.
- One or more years of welding and fabrication experience. (Preferred but not necessary)
- Journeyman Welder. (Preferred but not necessary)
TRAINING
- You will be required to attend paid training as required. Please note that training may occur outside of your work location.
